Chelsea's Mourinho: I don't want to sell Mata but the exit door is open

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists he is not actively seeking to sell Juan Mata but has kept the door ajar for a possible winter departure.

The Spaniard, who has started just nine times in the Premier League this season, reacted angrily to being substituted in the 53rd minute of the Blues' 3-0 win at Southampton on New Year's Day but Mourinho is not looking to offload him in January.

"I want to keep him. I don't want him to go. That is my opinion, my wish, but my door is open," the Chelsea manager said.

"The club's door is open too so when a player wants to speak to us we are there waiting for them.

"If you are asking do you want the club to sell him? I don't want to."
