Chelsea's Lampard insists he will step up for England penalties

Chelsea's Frank Lampard insists he will not shy away from taking penalties for England at next month's World Cup.

The star midfielder couldn't hit the target from the spot in Saturday's FA Cup final against Portsmouth but says that it is just part and parcel of the game and it will not put him off stepping up to the plate in South Africa.

"I've missed penalties for England, I've missed penalties for Chelsea and it comes with the territory. But it wouldn't put me off," he said.

"I'm big enough to stand up. I missed [in the final] and it will play on my mind a little, but it will be completely overshadowed by the fact that we won the game and won the Double.

"It's quite good for me too because that kind of thing makes me address it and look at it and when I go away with England I will work on that kind of stuff. Sometimes you need a little reminder of what you have got to do."
