Didier Drogba is looking forward to once again being on the same pitch as Frank Lampard this weekend.
The veteran striker, who returned to Stamford Bridge this summer, will get to see midfielder Lampard when the Blues travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on reigning English champions Manchester City on Sunday.
Lampard finds himself on loan with City after joining MLS expansion franchise New York City FC in the summer following a long career with Chelsea and Drogba says he is excited to see his old friend again.
"I can't wait to see him - my partner in crime," said Drogba.
"It is a pity that I came back and he's not here anymore, but I will be happy to see him. It doesn't matter the team where he is playing, I think he still belongs to us.
"He is a Chelsea player, for what he did. For me, he is part of the history of the club."
Drogba added: "It's going to be difficult. But I know Frank - he will do his best if he is playing."
