Chelsea's de Bruyne set for Wolfsburg medical

Chelsea attacking midfielder Kevin de Bruyne will undergo a medical with German club Wolfsburg on Wednesday ahead of a winter transfer.

The 22-year old Belgian, who joined the Blues from Genk for £7million in January 2012, will make the move to the Volkswagen Arena for £16m after he passes the required tests.

De Bruyne never settled properly at Stamford Bridge as he was sent on loan back to Genk as soon as he signed before spending the 2012/13 campaign in the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen where he scored 10 league goals.

Since arriving in southwest London, de Bruyne has made just nine appearances in all competitions, which shows that the Blues are making out like bandits in bringing in almost £10m profit from a player who was unable to prove himself in England.
