Chelsea's Cole jeopardises England career with Twitter rant

Ashley Cole is sure to have landed himself in hot water after branding the Football Association as a 'bunch of tw*ts' before swiftly apologising.

The Chelsea defender posted the comment on his Twitter page after an independent FA regulatory commission said there were inconsistencies in his statement regarding teammate John Terry's alleged racial abuse of QPR's Anton Ferdinand.

Terry received a four-game ban and a £220,000 fine for the incident prompting Cole to react strongly, posting the following on the social networking site: "Hahahahaa, well done #fa I lied did I, #BUNCHOFTW*TS."

The comment will certainly be looked at by the FA with the veteran left-back's international career now in doubt but he has attempted to cover up the potential damage by releasing an apology statement.

"I was really upset and tweeted my feelings in the heat of the moment. I apologise unreservedly for my comment about the FA," it read.
