Gary Cahill is confident Chelsea teammate John Terry will not be sidetracked by a potential feud with Rio Ferdinand this weekend.
The former England captain could come up against his old Three Lions colleague when the Blues meet QPR at Loftus Road on Sunday which would be the first time they have clashed since Ferdinand criticised Terry in his book late last year.
Terry was embroiled in drama with then-QPR defender Anton Ferdinand, brother of Rio, back in 2011 when he was accused of using racist language towards his opponent.
Manchester United great Rio blasted Terry for the way he handled the situation which could boil over in west London on the weekend but Cahill is assured that the Chelsea skipper has more important things to worry about.
"John has been through lots in his career - so many good times, winning trophies and so on, and bad times like any player at the highest level," said Cahill.
"He is obviously thick-skinned and that's why I say it won't affect him and it won't affect us.
"The main focus for them [QPR] is that they are fighting for their lives to stay in the League, which would be dangerous for us because any team fighting for their lives is willing to do whatever it takes to win, and we are away."
