Chelsea's Bertrand enjoying life under Villa's Lambert

Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand admits he is loving life with Aston Villa.

The 24-year old left-back has made seven Premier League appearances for Villa since joining on loan from the Blues in January and admits he is enjoying the game style under Paul Lambert whom he played for briefly at Norwich City in 2009.

"Paul Lambert was one of the main catalysts of me coming to this club, because he's a manager whose teams play the way that I like to play," he said.

"He really encourages you to express yourself on the pitch so it's always a pleasure to play this way.

"To play with the boys has been fantastic, on and off the pitch. In training there's a fantastic mentality from all the boys and it's a fantastic area to learn in."

The Mirror is suggesting that Villa are keen to sign Bertrand permanently at the end of the season despite the fact the two-time England international having two years to run on his current contract.
