Chelsea preparing to sell fullbacks Zhirkov, Bosingwa

Chelsea pair Jose Bosingwa and Yuri Zhirkov are set to be sold this summer.

The London Evening Standard says Zhirkov has been one of the biggest disappointments since he arrived at Stamford Bridge for £18million from CSKA Moscow in 2009.

The Russian international has been plagued by various injury problems, which has led to him starting just 32 matches in two years.

It is understood the left-sided player has also struggled to settle in London and Chelsea are ready to cash in on the 27-year-old. He is under pressure to leave Stamford Bridge anyway for the sake of his international career because his place in the squad is under threat due to a lack of first-team football.

Spartak Moscow have shown an interest, although he may not be too keen to go there having played for their rivals CSKA but a return to Russia is likely.

Portugal right-back Bosingwa, who arrived from Porto for £16.2m in 2008, is also no longer wanted by the club.

The 28-year-old has struggled since returning from a serious knee injury last October which had kept him on the sidelines for a year.
