Chelsea are readying a swap offer for Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt.

Sky Italia's Gianluca di Marzio is reporting Chelsea are preparing a £38million bid, plus Timo Werner, for the 22-year-old Dutchman.

De Ligt wants to leave the Bianconeri after talks over a new contract broke down in an explosive meeting with the club on Thursday.

Juve would want more for a player who has a release clause worth £103million.

Juve are interested in Chelsea forward Werner, though it's reported that his wages, currently worth £270,000-per-week, could cause a problem.
