Chelsea owner Boehly hinted about Tuchel departure before Gilmour joined Brighton

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is said to have implied that Thomas Tuchel was going to lose his job when he sold Billy Gilmour to Brighton.

The young midfielder was moved on to the Albion late in the transfer window, when present Chelsea boss Graham Potter was still in charge at Brighton.

Tuchel, who has now lost his job, is the one who no longer wanted Gilmour at Chelsea.

According to The Athletic, Boehly told Gilmour at the time that he should wait for his chance and that he would get game time in the coming weeks and months.

He told Gilmour that he could leave in January if he was not playing regularly by then.

However, the youngster did not appear to get the hint that the manager who did not fancy him may soon lose his job.
