Chelsea are in talks with AS Roma for midfielder Daniele de Rossi.Il Messaggero says Jose Mourinho has recommended De Rossi to Chelsea as he prepares to take charge.

De Rossi only penned a new deal with Roma last season, but remains unsettled after an indifferent campaign and a breakdown of his relationship with fans.

Roma president James Palotta and general manager Franco Baldini were in London yesterday and talks are already underway with Chelsea over De Rossi's potential sale.

Carlo Ancelotti, who is pushing to leave PSG for Real Madrid, also wants the Spanish giants to move for De Rossi, though he's meeting resistance from inside the Santiago Bernabeu.
