Chelsea face having to shed one high-profile foreign player if they're to land AS Roma defender Mehdi Benatia.
The Daily Star says Blues boss Jose Mourinho wants to strengthen his defence with a move for highly-rated French-born Moroccan international.
Chelsea will have to sell at least one foreign player if they sign Benatia, because they will have exceeded their allowed quota under Premier League rules. Keeper Petr Cech is wanted by Real Madrid and he would be allowed to go for £18m and Nigerian holding midfielder John Obi Mikel is also seen as surplus to requirements.
