Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante has played down talk of winning the Ballon d'Or.

Many in the game are now calling for Kante to be at least nominated for this year's award after his performance in the Champions League final.

But Kante said at a France Euros presser: “I think it's too early to talk about it. Now it is only the middle of the year, there are many matches and tournaments ahead. There is no point in claiming that I deserve this award today.

"Several years ago I entered the top 10 candidates, and it was nice. But winning is another matter entirely. This is a great individual reward. Those who conquered it achieved incredible success throughout their careers."
