Chelsea midfielder Jorginho tells AC Milan: Penalty yes; red card no

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho concedes they were lucky with victory at Champions League opponents AC Milan last night.

Jorginho converted an early penalty for the 2-0 win, with Milan defender Fikayo Tomori giving away the spotkick and being sent off in the process.

He told Sky Italia: "The penalty? For me there was... (laughs). Maybe the red was not, but the penalty was there. The expulsion clearly changed the game, especially with a goal.

"We have been fortunate, but it remains an important victory for us.

"Five goals difference with Milan? They were two different games. At Stamford Bridge they did well in the first half, while here they went a man less right away. It is difficult to make comparisons. We too, however, have made mistakes that we should not have made. '

"The details at these levels make the difference: today we had a demonstration. One chance can make the difference for a match and for the entire competition.

"Milan, however, is and remains a strong team and has shown this by endangering us even in numerical inferiority.

"The serenity of taking penalties despite mistakes? The serenity I have in myself. We all make mistakes and we must learn from them. I always try to do it with the idea of improving."
