Chelsea midfielder Bakayoko: Maldini made clear AC Milan wanted me to return

Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is delighted with his return to AC Milan.

Bakayoko has joined Milan on a two-season loan.

"I'm very happy to be here, I have great memories," Bakayoko told MilanTV. “It didn't start well, but in the end the club, the fans and the staff showed me a lot of affection.

“This is why I always thought that I would come back one day, it was one of my dreams."

Bakayoko revealed he spoke to technical director Paolo Maldini about a return to Milanello.

“We talked a few weeks ago and today we met," he said. “They all wanted me to come back and this gave me a lot of confidence and I was sure I would return to the Rossoneri.

“It's nice to see some friends again, I know all the French players on the team and when I decided to come back here, I thought about it and talked to them."
