Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has sent Andre Wisdom well wishes after the Derby defender was stabbed in Liverpool.
Lampard managed Wisdom at Pride Park last season. The former Liverpool man is recovering in hospital after an "unprovoked assault and robbery".
Lampard said: "I was very shocked at hearing the news. My wishes are with Andre and his family, and with Derby County.
"They have had a tough ride over the past period of time and I know how much Mel Morris cares for the club and the players and staff individually. Huge wishes to Andre in his recovery."
In a statement, Derby said: "Derby County can confirm that Andre Wisdom has been the victim of an unprovoked assault and robbery.
"He sustained injuries which resulted in him being admitted to hospital, where he is in a stable condition."
