Chelsea, Man Utd on RED ALERT as Ramos rejects Real Madrid contract offer

Premier League clubs are on red alert after it emerged Sergio Ramos has turned down Real Madrid's new contract offer.

Reports in Spain suggest that Ramos was not happy that Real's latest offer would see him paid less than Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Iker Casillas - as well as top-earner Cristiano Ronaldo.

And that could open the door for Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal to step up their interest in the World Cup winner, says the Daily Express.

Ramos has admitted the Premier League is on his mind after becoming increasingly frustrated with Spanish Liga match officials.

"The only thing I will say is that, with every passing day, I prefer the English Premier League.

"What am I talking about? Obviously not about the ball-boys ... the style of play, refereeing.

"People enjoy watching that competition. When one loses, it's easy to focus on the refereeing decisions."
