Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio has emerged on the radar of both Chelsea and Manchester City.
The 23-year old Argentine centre-back has impressed in La Liga this term with his performances turning the heads of Jose Mourinho and Manuel Pellegrini.
The Express is of the belief that Mourinho is determined to bolster his defence this winter and is interested in Musacchio who is also being heavily linked with Barcelona.
Both the Premier League clubs could come in with offers in January but Villarreal will be hoping they can ward off any such action as they strive for a Champions League finish this term.
