And coupled with Russian owner Dmitry Rybolovlev's concerns about Financial Fair Play, the player's unhappiness means there remains a small chance that Monaco could try to offload the former Atletico Madrid star.
Persistent reports suggest that Falcao's agent, Jorge Mendes, would prefer him to link up with another client of his, one Jose Mourinho, at Chelsea.
There is still the problem of Monaco's £85m asking price, with the Principality club reportedly open to taking Fernando Torres or Demba Ba in part exchange.
