The Bundesliga's leading scorer Mario Gomez attracted the interest of Chelsea during the transfer window, according to the Bayern Munich striker. The 25 year old claims the Blues made a £35.7million bid for his services during the January.
Carlo Ancelotti's side eventually splashed out £50million to lure Spain international Fernando Torres to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool.
Chelsea's bid for Gomez was rejected by Bayern and the Germany international claims he was initially kept in the dark over their interest.>p> But Gomez admitted would not have been tempted by a switch to the Premier League champions.
"I only found out about the offer after the club had turned it down," Gomez told Sport Bild weekly.
"But it wouldn't have mattered anyway. I am already at a top club and I am playing where I always wanted to."
The former Stuttgart player currently has 16 goals to his name.
