Chelsea loan chief Tore Andre Flo was key to Vitesse signing Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard.

Flo has a good relationship with Vitesse staff thanks to his role with Chelsea where he has moved several young players on-loan to the Dutch club.

"Chelsea has had many players playing on Vitesse loans. We have talked to Tore André Flo. He managed a lot of them and recommended us the club," said Ødegaard's agent Bjorn Tore Kvarme to VG.

Flo likens Odegaard to Mason Mount, who is now on-loan at Derby.

"Mason Mount is quite similar to Martin Ødegaard in style. Vitesse is good at developing these type of players, and Mason Mount was a great success at Vitesse. I also think the club needs a kind like Martin Ødegaard, who can give them a boost. I feel confident that this is a good choice."

Odegaard is on-loan at Vitesse to the end of the season.
