Chelsea are reportedly weighing up the options of a double swoop for Liverpool duo Yossi Benayoun and Javier Mascherano.

Both players have been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer and with Chelsea likely to lose Michael Ballack and Joe Cole, the Reds pair would act as perfect replacements.

With Liverpool down on their usual transfer budget, Rafael Benitez may be forced to sell one or two stars and with recent comments coming from Benayoun, it seems almost certain that something like that may happen.

"Ancelotti wants me for next season and now everything depends on Liverpool," he said. "Chelsea will have to pay some £6m but I believe that in the end I'll be moving there."
