Chelsea likely to use second string for Everton Carling Cup clash

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is expected to field a team of fringe players for tomorrow night's Carling Cup clash with Everton.

The Blues take on the Toffees in the fourth round of the competition at Goodison Park and a largely second string line-up could be used for the fixture.

Didier Drogba, Jose Bosingwa and Ashley Cole are all suspended whilst Raul Meireles is cup-tied after playing for Liverpool against Exeter City in the second round back in August.

The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Josh McEachran, Oriol Romeu, Ryan Bertrand, Salomon Kalou, Florent Malouda, Alex and Paulo Ferreira are all jockeying for a start as Villas-Boas gets set to rest some Premier League stars following the 1-0 loss to QPR on Sunday.
