Chelsea legend Terry prefers the quiet life to management

John Terry is considering giving up on his dream on going into management with the possible prospect of returning to manage Chelsea in the future. The 34 year old is now having doubts over whether he wants to remain in the spotlight after being under such close scrutiny since making his professional debut in 1998.

"I'm still doing my badges - it's long and difficult to do while I'm still playing, with not many days off," said Terry, who has agreed a one-year contract to play on next season.

"I'm getting there and it [management] is something I want to look into doing. But I'm not sure. I was keen to do it for three or four years but I have got to later in my life and I'm 50-50. I don't know whether I want to be in that every day.

"My dream was to manage Chelsea but the more I have been doing it, I don't know whether a role within the club would be more up my street.

"After having to deal with the pressures of playing all my career, to then throw myself back in that for the rest of my life... and obviously I can't start at the very top at Chelsea. You have to go out and learn."
