Chelsea have dropped their pursuit of Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao.

The Daily Star says Chelsea have dropped out of the race for £50m striker Falcao, leaving Manchester United in pole position.

The Blues have decided the Colombian hit-man is too expensive for a 27-year-old.

United have first option on the Atletico Madrid ace, but are also understood to be baulking at the asking price.
