Chelsea shot stopper Nathan Baxter is a target for Maccabi Haifa on a permanent deal.
Baxter, who is 24, can leave Chelsea on a free transfer to resurrect his career.
Per the Evening Standard, Haifa learned that Baxter has Jewish ancestry and can even join the squad without being counted as an overseas player.
The shot stopper, who had a good loan spell at Hull City, is also a target for League One side Reading.
However, moving to the Israeli top flight may be more appealing, as League One is the third tier of English football.
Haifa will be in the Champions League, while they are 15 times winners of their domestic league.
