Cesar Azpilicueta has sent off fellow Chelsea left-back Filipe Luis with a heavy heart.

The Brazilian defender is set to return to former club Atletico Madrid and his direct competition for a starting spot admits he is sad to see him go.

"I think when he arrived he gave everything and tried his best," Azpilicueta said on the club's pre-season tour of the USA.

"I know everyone wants to play and we were in healthy competition but we are friends and we don't have any problems.

"But they have made a decision and if it is official, I will wish him the best of luck and follow him for sure."
