Chelsea are acting quickly to replace the departing Filipe Luis as they look to seal a deal for Ghanaian defender Abdul Baba Rahman.
Luis is set to return to Atletico Madrid after the two clubs reached a deal of around £15million for the Brazilian left-back, who failed to establish himself at Stamford Bridge after arriving last summer.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is believed to be a big admirer of FC Augsburg star Rahman and looks set to persuade the 21-year-old Ghanaian to join him in London.
Rahman knows that his chances of dislodging Cesar Azpilicueta as the club's first choice left-back are hard and is seeking assurances about playing regularly before signing for the Blues.
Reports suggest that Rahman would favour a move to the Premier League champions, having put off a deal with Roma to pursue an opportunity to join Chelsea.
