Chelsea crushed ten men Wigan 8-0 at Stamford Bridge to emphatically secure the 2009/10 Barclay's Premier League title by one point from Manchester United. Nicolas Anelka settled any nerves with a goal after only six minutes and once Gary Caldwell was dismissed on the half-hour allowing Frank Lampard to score from the penalty spot the title was always heading south.
The Blues made their numerical advantage count with six second half goals in 26 incredible minutes.
Salamon Kalou made it three and Anelka almost immediately got his second.
Didier Drogba then took centre stage with a hat-trick in 17 minutes, and there was still time for Ashley Cole to end the scoring in the final minute.
