Chelsea hero Sinclair tells former club Wrexham: Forget feud and go get Sharp!

Former Wrexham defender Frank Sinclair has urged the League Two hopefuls to go for Billy Sharp.

The striker is available after leaving LA Galaxay last month.

Sharp infamously clashed with Wrexham players last season when helping Sheffield United defeat the Welsh club in the FA Cup.

But Chelsea hero Sinclair says the veteran would be ideal for Wrexham's attack, telling Stocklytics: “Wrexham have had back-and-forths with Billy Sharp and he's obviously back in England looking for a new club…

“I'm sure there's going to be many takers, even at the age he is now, but can you imagine if Billy Sharp ends up going to Wrexham and scores a load of goals to get them promoted!!

“They'd soon be able to get over the problem they've had previously!

“It (the situation was a weird one because Billy Sharp has probably done more in his career than Wrexham have done in their history for a long time."

Sinclair also said, “I wouldn't be surprised if they got to the Premier League. I don't think that it's something they could do in the next 5-10 years, but if you give them a realistic time frame of within the next 10 years, you'd say it's doable.

“Look how long it took Leicester City to get back to the Premier League after being relegated (in 2004), I think it took them 11 seasons to get back up. So, 10 years in football can go quite quickly."
