Chelsea hero Lebouef would stick with Werner over Havertz for Real Madrid second leg

Chelsea hero Frank Leboeuf claims Real Madrid will find it more difficult facing Timo Werner up front ahead of Kai Havertz in Champions League semi-final second leg.

The tie is evenly poised at 1-1 heading in the second leg at Stamford Bridge.

Havertz scored two goals in the win over Fulham on Saturday, but Lebouef would stick with Werner against Real.

Asked about who should start as the No.9 for Chelsea in the second leg, Leboeuf told ESPN FC: "A tough question, but I'd still go with Werner.

I'm afraid you [might] lose him for the rest of the season. He looked so done in Madrid, not scoring goals," he explained.

"He keeps doing very interesting things; the assist that he gave, keeping the ball and winning a free-kick at the edge of the box [in the Fulham win].

"He lacks confidence but he keeps on trying. He doesn't give up, and I like the fact that he still tries everything.

"I think, against players like Varane, for example, you need somebody smaller who can disturb him and be fast.

"And it will be the case with Werner instead of Kai Havertz."
