Chelsea are pushing to close a deal for Ajax defender Gregory van der Wiel.

The Sunday Mirror says Chelsea are only halfway through an incredible summer recruitment drive - despite already agreeing to splash nearly £80million on Eden Hazard, Hulk and Marko Marin.

The Blues are set to smash through the £100m mark before the start of next season as they now work on signing a winger, midfield destroyer and reliable right-back.

Van der Wiel is on Chelsea's radar as owner Roman Abramovich and technical director Michael Emenalo look to reshape the squad.
