Chelsea fullback Patrick van Aanholt admits he chose Wigan Athletic over Hamburg in the summer.
Hamburg wanted Van Aanholt to follow Chelsea teammate Jeffrey Bruma in joining them on-loan.
"For me, such a move has never been an option," he explained. "They have the German international left-back Dennis Aogo. I didn't think I would play often.
"Moreover, I want to succeed in England. I've wanted this for years and will not let this dream go."
