Chelsea fullback Todd Kane says he's benefited from loan spells away.
The 21 year-old defender has spent time with Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End.
"I think I've matured a lot," he told chelseafc.com. "I've come back from those loans a different player, both on and off the pitch. It's a different kind of feeling, where getting the result each week becomes so important and that's a massive difference that you can really feel in the dressing room.
"You have to learn quickly about adapting to different styles of play and seeing games out when you're on the back foot. I played against some good players and it was something I looked forward to each week because that's what I've always wanted to do. It was definitely a good experience and a real learning curve for me."
