Chelsea face new Ampadu fee for Cup tie

Chelsea face having to cough up if Ethan Ampadu plays in their FA Cup tie with Nottingham Forest.

The Sun says Ampadu will cost Chelsea £250,000 if he plays in the Blue's FA Cup match against Nottingham Forest.

The 18-year-old was originally handed his debut for the club by former manager Antonio Conte against Saturday's third round opponents Forest.

The Welsh wonderkid joined Chelsea from Exeter City in 2017 and a tribunal revealed the London club must pay City £1.3m, rising to £2.5m, in compensation.

It was also stated that the Grecians will receive further sums of £250,000 when Ampadu reaches 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 first team appearances (substitute or starting).

The defender has made nine senior appearances for the Blues so far but has played just twice this season, with both appearances coming in the Europa League.
