Chelsea have reportedly set their sights on acquiring Zenit St Petersburg defender Ezequiel Garay, should the Blues miss out on Everton's John Stones.
Stones has reportedly handed in a transfer request as Chelsea prepare a £40million bid for the Toffees centre-back.
However, the Daily Mail is reporting Chelsea have lined up Garay as a contingency if the Stones deal falls through.
It is understood that Zenit have told Chelsea the Argentine international is not for sale, despite reports claiming Garay is looking for a move away from Russia.
