Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho hopes to deal in Frank Lampard after seeing John Terry pen new terms yesterday.
The club's focus will now turn to Lampard, whose deal also expires next month.
Chelsea are confident of tying down Lampard, 35, but there are major doubts over Ashley Cole's future. The left back played a bit-part role last season and will not be short of offers from other clubs.
