Chelsea draw up keeper shopping list to replace Cech

Chelsea are shopping for a new No1, it has been revealed.

The Sunday Times says Chelsea are looking to replace Petr Cech as first-choice goalkeeper as the Czech international continues to bear the brunt of criticism for recent defensive problems. The club has drawn up a list of potential replacements, including CSKA Moscow's Igor Akinfeev, Gianluigi Buffon of Juventus and Lyons' France international, Hugo Lloris.

It would be difficult for Chelsea to bring a new keeper into the team next month as their principal targets are cup-tied for Champions League football. However, a deal could be agreed that leaves the player at his current club on loan until the summer, allowing Chelsea to take advantage of the temporary suspension of the club's Fifa transfer ban.
