Chelsea defender David Luiz hopes Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fernandinho can join him in the Premier League.

Fernandinho has made no secret of his wish to move to Manchester City.

Luiz has urged Shakhtar to defuse a potentially explosive situation and reduce their target price.

"I hope, above all, they'll manage to see what is in his heart.

"Every human ­being deserves to live what he feels," he said. "The club has to be reasonable and ­mature enough to solve that situation, which is good for all sides, because a sad player can't perform as expected.

"I'd be frustrated if I weren't allowed to live what I have in my heart."
