Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic hopes to win the FA Cup to make up for the disappointment of missing the Champions League final.

The Serbian was booked in ­Barcelona last week and will miss the Champions League final against Bayern Munich.

He said: "That makes the FA Cup Final more special for me.

"But even if I didn't miss the Champions League Final, the FA Cup would still be ­special. I know about the history of the competition and everything about it makes you proud to be in the stadium that day. Now there is more motivation.

"We will give everything for the trophy. As for missing the match against Bayern, well you can't go into a game thinking what might happen. You have to give everything. You cannot fail to make tackles because of what might happen."
