Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile was delighted to be part of last night's Carabao Cup win against Blackburn Rovers.

Badiashile, who hadn't been seen since May, was on the scoresheet as he played alongside former Monaco teammate Axel Disasi at the back.

He told chelseafc.com: "I'm so happy to be able to help the team with this goal. It has been a difficult period for me because I've not been on the pitch, but I'm very happy to now be back with the team."

On playing with Disasi again, Badiashile continued: "It was so good because we know each other very well.

"It was easy for me to play alongside him because I did so for a long time [at Monaco]. He is a close friend so I am happy.

"A win is always something great for the feeling [of the team]. It was a tough game but we got the win. That is what's most important."
