Chelsea chiefs have decided to bid for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane this summer. The Daily Express says Chelsea will make a £35million move for the Frenchman at season's end.
Varane was convinced to join Real by Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and cites the Portuguese as a mentor.
Mourinho believes that a young player of the quality of Varane would move his squad onto another level even if they win the league this year and, alongside another young Frenchman in Kurt Zouma, ease the blow when skipper John Terry retires.
