Chelsea captain Terry: Mourinho best I've played for

Chelsea captain John Terry has declared Jose Mourinho as the best manager he's played for.

Terry faced an uncertain future when he was regularly left out of the side by interim boss Rafael Benitez in 2013 but has been an ever present since Mourinho returned two years ago.

The 34-year-old has also played under Gianluca Vialli, Claudio Ranieri, Avram Grant, Luiz Felipe Scolari, Guus Hiddink, Carlo Ancelotti, Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto di Matteo at Chelsea.

Terry said: "He's [Mourinho] certainly the best manager I've worked with. You never know whether you're in his good or bad books. The manager has played a big part. The honesty he had with me when he took over [in 2013] when he said, 'play well and you stay in the team. If not other players will step in'.

"The team is doing great, he's doing everything right. We are top of the League and everyone is hungry. That's difficult to do because we have a big squad, so to keep everyone happy is a tough job. But he manages to do it.

"It's been a great couple of years for me, my form has been good and I'm delighted to stay for another year. Hopefully, there will be a few more years after this."
