Chelsea captain Terry: I can continue for a 'few more years'

Chelsea captain John Terry believes he can continue at the top level football for a 'few more years'.

The former England captain played every minute of the Premier League season en route to his fourth title and at the end of the season ridiculed former boss Rafa Benitez's claim his body could not stand up to the rigours of two games a week.

Terry said from Sydney: "I was delighted to play every single minute of the Premier League season. Especially as at my age you tend to get written off as well. So it was nice on a personal note to play in all of the games."

The 34-year old has already been awarded one-year contract extension by manager Jose Mourinho and he expects this trend to continue for a few more seasons.

"I am hoping that is going to continue for a few more years yet," added Terry.

"I am hoping to finish my career at Chelsea and I hope I can do that under this manager."
