Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas was happy to introduce Blues fans to Oriol Romeu last week.
Romeu his Champions League debut for Chelsea in midweek and is pushing hard for a regular place in the first 11.
"He has been having his opportunities and he has been performing when he was called up. When you see a player performing like this it is a good sign for the future," Villas-Boas told chelseafc.com. "He is competing with one of the world's best central midfielders, Obi Mikel, for that particular position, and also Raul [Meireles] who we have been using in that position.
"He knows he competes against the world's best, and we have to remind ourselves that he made the jump straight from Barça B to Chelsea.
"I believed in his talent. Oriol was very well educated, there is nothing I can say that is going to make him become a better player. He will become a better player when he finds the knowledge of the game, when he challenges himself in the Premiership. He comes fully educated from Barcelona's school."
