Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel hopes that he will have Timo Werner available against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup.
Spurs and Chelsea do battle in the first leg of the semi-finals on Wednesday.
The game sees Italian Antonio Conte return to Chelsea as Spurs boss.
Chelsea should also have Romelu Lukaku in the team, after he apologised publicly and privately after an ill-advised interview to an Italian station aired over the weekend.
"Timo trained yesterday," said Chelsea boss Tuchel on Tuesday.
"We have one more session to go and he feels much better, which is a really good sign.
"He took part in full training, at full intensity and had no reaction at all. If today's training goes well for him, then we will look to have him on the bench and maybe give him some minutes."
