With the money raised from Wayne Bridge's sale to Manchester City, Scolari intends to bid for Ben Arfa, who has failed to settle at l'OM since his arrival from Lyon.

Despite Ben Arfa's fiery character, Scolari is convinced he can tame the French ace and get him playing his best football at the Bridge.
