Chelsea boss Potter delivers positive updates on Mendy and Kante

Chelsea have been given a major boost regarding the fitness of shot stopper Edouard Mendy.

The Senegalese star has been out of action for a month with a knee injury.

He was in poor form before getting the injury against West Ham United.

However, Chelsea will be delighted to have him back, and will be hoping he can rediscover his best form.

“Eddie [Mendy] has been training with the team the last few days so he will be in the squad, which is good news for us because we need as much competition for places," manager Graham Potter said during his press conference on Tuesday.

He added that N'Golo Kante is also approaching fitness, as he has been absent with a hamstring injury since August.

Potter stated: “NG [Kante] is training more and more. Not fully but getting closer, so that's really positive."
