Chelsea boss Pochettino: Is Palmer now a £100M player?

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is delighted with the improvement of Cole Palmer.

Ahead of facing Sheffield United, Pochettino was asked if Palmer was now rated in the £100m class.

The manager said: "It's not easy to talk. It is difficult to explain. Sometimes, expectation plays a very important role in a player when they are young. When we signed Palmer, no one expected him to perform in the way that he is performing.

"For sure, we have talented players that need time. All are in different levels with expectation and pressure and everything. We have a young team that needs to grow. This process is painful because when you don't win and are not in a position that the club is used to being in, it is tough and difficult for everyone and our fans.

"But it is in the way the club want to be and to build this new project and we need to be strong in our ideas and to be tough. We know what we are doing but the process is not so quick, is not fast, or the speed is not in the way that everyone expects."
