Chelsea are weighing up a summer raid on Real Madrid for Raphael Varane. The Daily Express says reports in Spain suggest that Blues boss Jose Mourinho remains a fan of the 20-year-old and hopes to bring Varane to England in the summer.
While injury problems have given Real cause for concern over Varane's long-term future at the Bernabeu, Mourinho remains confident he can get the best out of the youngster.
Arsenal and Manchester United were both linked with a move for Varane in the lead up to the January transfer window but were not able to reach a deal.
But now Mourinho is believed to be willing to meet Varane's £25m release clause in order to push a deal through.
